Following on from my smaller wave experiment, this was a lot of fun to create. I used mixed media with acrylic paint on a large canvas. My idea was to show the turbulence inside a wave with light and dark blues, whites and black.
I did this through layering the colours underneath the white, which sinks through the heavier colours, allowing a swirl of colours to come through as I turn and tip the canvas.
I can see this painting above a sofa, or a traditional bath, somewhere you would like to be reminded of the sea, maybe a favourite surfing spot, a sailing adventure or just a happy, hot holiday playing in the waves!
